Man granted bail in alleged acid throwing case

He claims the woman threw acid on herself

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) granted post-arrest bail to an accused allegedly involved in throwing acid on a woman’s face.

Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, awarding bail to accused Pir Ozair Shah directed him to furnish bail bonds of Rs100,000.

As the proceedings commenced, the petitioner’s counsel implored the court that police implicated the accused in a forged case merely to show his competency despite the accused has nothing to do with this case.

He implored the court that the woman herself threw acid on her face over her failure in love and then levelled allegation on the accused. He submitted that a false case was registered implicating the accused.

However, the victim's lawyer contended in court that the accused had thrown acid on the girl.
