FAISALABAD:

Central leader of PML-N Chaudhry Sher Ali has severely criticised the local police and administration for arresting PML-N workers and registering cases against them.

Ali termed police action against certain PML-N workers as a calculated move by select groups within the PML in connivance with opposition leaders to defame the party.

Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Sher Ali also blamed the administration for its complete failure to protect the life and property of the people. He accused the police and administration for unnecessarily victimising PML-N workers and its office bearers to pander to the opposition. “They are doing this merely to secure their own position with the federal government and they don’t care about the consequences of their actions,” Ali said.

He said that the police had entered into the PML-N worker’s houses under the pretext of arresting those involved in a firing incident during a rally. “They harassed party workers and their families without reason even though they were innocent,” he said.
