KARACHI:
A portion of a busy thoroughfare in Karachi's downtown area caved in on Monday morning, disrupting traffic flow and once again bringing the city's crumbling infrastructure into the spotlight.
Videos of the sinkhole near Hotel Metropole on Club Road showed a truck tipped over with its rear wheels stuck in the crater.
The heavy vehicle was transporting containers of milk which could be seen spilled on the road near the Sindh Governor House.
Traffic policemen were quick to reach the site and managed to clear out traffic quickly.
Nine killed in Bhakkar accident
Pakistan ranks as one of the worst countries for road safety with a raft of accidents having been reported in the recent past.
The quality of roads in the city is also questionable as Karachi is infamous for poor traffic management and major traffic jams.
