Technology: Google funds to encourage innovation

PaSHA has launched a Rs20 million fund to encourage social innovations in the country.

LAHORE: Pakistan Software Houses Association (PaSHA) has launched a Rs20 million fund to encourage social innovations in the country. PaSHA President Jehan Ara and Google Pakistan Country Consultant Badar Khushnood announced the fund which has been provided by Google Incorporation. Ara said that the young people have innovative ideas and are able to identify solutions that can tackle urgent social and community challenges. However, they need someone to work with them to fine-tune their ideas as well as a limited amount of capital to get these off the ground. The efforts are intended to help the youth become successful, create economic opportunities for others and design innovative solutions to existing social problems.
