Tariq Lutfi will continue to perform the duties of the head coach of the national football team for the three-match series against India that starts next month.
The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has been facing heavy criticism for continuing with Lutfi despite Pakistan’s dismal performance under him recently.
PFF Secretary Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi dismissed the possibility of sacking Lutfi, saying that although the federation is looking for foreign coaches, the process of hiring one will be long-drawn.
“Lutfi will prepare the team for the series,” Lodhi told The Express Tribune. “We don’t have any other choice. Hiring a foreign coach will take over a month.”

I think that hiring of a foreign coach is need of the hour. I suggest if a foreign coach can
be hired within a month time, the present coach be replaced before Indian series
otherwise no change in results could be expected.
