RAWALPINDI: Even after the passage of three months, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has yet to implement the decisions taken in its governing body meeting.

Except implementing the decision to increase the salary of employees by 50 per cent, the authority has taken no action over the decisions taken in the RDA board meeting.

The minutes of governing board’s meeting on July 30 were sent to ministry of housing for approval however the matter is in a limbo and there has been no progress on it so far. The meeting had approved various decisions including regularisation and promotions of employees, hiring of a consultant for the next 20-year master plan for Rawalpindi, construction of the RDA Complex Tower and two multi-storey commercial buildings, revision of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) supply and sewerage tariffs according to cantonment tariffs.

It was also decided in the meeting that no construction plan of any multi-storey building would be approved within RDA’s jurisdiction without Rs150,000 per kanal as fees for sewerage infrastructure.

It had been made mandatory to submit an NOC from RDA to acquire a loan against properties located in private housing societies.
