Azadi march failed in province, claims Dummar

Minister says Fazl’s party could not gather even 10 people from different cities

QUETTA: Provincial Minister Haji Noor Muhammad Dummar claimed on Monday that people of Balochistan have rejected Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl’s (JUI- F) and opposition’s Azadi march and called it a flop show presented by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

“A small number of people participated in the JUI-F’s rally in some districts of Balochistan while the rest of the province rejected them,” said Dummar, who is a senior leader of ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) while addressing a news conference in Harnai.

He said instead of marching towards Islamabad for self-interests, all opposition parties should have joined the government’s hands in solidarity with Kashmir. Due to the current economic crisis, the country cannot bear any march or protest, he added.

“Fazl claimed to get the support of millions in march but foiled in gathering even 10 people from each city of Pakistan.  This proves that people of Pakistan do not support people conspiring against the country,” the minister said while criticising the opposition parties for harming the country through corruption.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically said he won’t grant NRO [National Reconciliation Ordinance] to anyone involved in looting the public money.”  The provincial minister vowed to stand with the Pakistan Army and Prime Minister Imran Khan on the Kashmir cause.
