AJK elections: Polling underway in KP

KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA: The polling for by-elections in LA-41 constituency of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Express News reported.

Earlier, elections in the constituency were postponed last on an account of allegations of rigging.

The voting is underway in nine districts of KP where more than six thousand and seven hundred voters will cast their votes.

A tough competition is expected between Pakistan People Party’s (PPP) Abdul Majid Khan and joint candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) PML-N and Jamat-i-Islami, Noorul Bari.

The polling that started at 8 am will continue till 5 pm.

On the other hand, AJK high court had ordered for re-polling of 10 polling stations in LA-15 district three and 13 polling stations of LA-16, Bagh four.
