Pharmacy worker 'commits suicide'

LAHORE:

A 24-year-old employee of a private pharmacy allegedly shot himself and died in the Islampura area.

According to a spokesperson, Islampura police reached the scene after receiving an emergency call on helpline 15 from a co-worker.

The man, Idrees, was found in critical condition and shifted to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police said the body was taken into custody and shifted to a morgue for legal formalities, while an investigation into the incident was initiated.

Initial findings based on CCTV footage from the premises suggested that the young man had taken his own life, the spokesperson said, adding that evidence had been collected from the scene for the inquiry. Police officials said an investigation was under way to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
