
Traffic Police Additional IG Farooq Mazhar and TEVTA Chief Operating Officer Akhtar Abbas Bharwana signed the MoU on Tuesday. Other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
According to the MoU, Punjab police will provide instructors and study materials for training centres, while the authority will provide financial and logistical support. TEVTA and Punjab police will jointly teach shorter and longer duration courses under the supervision of expert trainers. Shorter courses will be three days-long, while longer courses will be for two months.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz Khan said that to improve road safety and traffic management, it is necessary to provide citizens with proper training. “Trained drivers will prove to be beneficial in saving the valuable lives of citizens and decreasing accidents,” he said.
