K-P launches Rescue 1122 integration mobile app

PESHAWAR: Nearly a month after it had been disclosed, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday formally inaugurated the integration of Rescue 1122 Services in the mobile application for ride-hailing service Careem.

Mahmood inaugurated the app at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar by pressing the touchscreen of the device. The mobile app of the private ride-sharing service provider which will enable over 50,000 users of the company in Peshawar to call emergency services such as ambulances and fire brigades.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Mahmood stated that the initiative will further improve the outreach of Rescue 1122 services in Peshawar and that they may be extended to the rest of the province, enabling the government to save precious lives through the tech-enabled solution.

Rescue 1122 saves 1.09 million lives in 2018

He added that all existing Rescue 1122 ambulances and fire brigades can be accessed in the application by selecting the separate emergency services, Customer Car Type (CCT).

“Rescue 1122 services on the mobile app is the first initiative of its kind in the country which will provide citizens with access to emergency services using the simple mobile application. We are working digitalization of services which is not only time-efficient but will also provide cheap services to citizens at their doorsteps,” Mahmood said.
