LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday adjourned for a week the hearing of a petition seeking fresh investigation of an allegedly staged police encounter in Nishtar Colony. Earlier, Shahbaz Butt, father of the deceased, who is the complainant in the FIR, sought time to engage counsel. The request was granted by Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry.  The plea seeking a fresh probe has been filed by two constables, Asif and Abdul Qadir, accused of killing a robbery suspect, Shahzad Butt, on June 10 in a fake shootout. They have requested the court to order a fresh inquiry against all police officials involved in the matter, including senior officers who approved of the killing.
