FAISALABAD: Due to educational and social pressures, sedentary lifestyle and bad eating habits students are likely to suffer from depression but female students are more prone to it than men.

This was crux of the views expressed at a seminar held at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) at Iqbal Auditorium on Thursday. The event was organised in connection with World Mental Health Day.

Dean Faculty of Agriculture Dr Muhammad Aslam, Dean Social Sciences Dr Mahmood A Randhawa, Dr Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar, Chairperson Sociology Dr Saira Akhtar spoke on the occasion.

Dr Muhammad Aslam said that making little changes in our lifestyle can be helpful in leading a healthy life. “There is a need to create awareness about the symptom of depression. Students need to learn to recognise when they are feeling stressed and should know some simple ways to relax themselves.”
