CHARSADDA: A row over burial was about to become tribal feud, but the timely intervention by the district administration resolved the matter. According to reports, a grave was being dug in Utmanzai graveyard for the deceased daughter of Subhanuddin Ustad and aunt of Shah Khalid. However, Shaharyar Taimoor Khan intruded and maintained that the funeral plot was in use of his ancestors since 1926. However, men from the deceased’s side, Feroz Shah, Zubair and Ismail Bacha said the site belonged to them and had graves of their other family members. The dispute was moved to the Assistant Commissioner Abdul Wahab Khalil who rushed to the graveyard. He also took help of notables of the area and the matter was resolved amicably. Later, he also oversaw the funeral prayers and burial of the deceased woman. The AC maintained that the district authorities have started to crackdown against encroachments in graveyards in compliance of directions given by the provincial government. The situation for Uthmanzai graveyard will be cleared by October 9 while encroachment details of other graveyards would be available within three to four weeks.
