QUETTA: Deputy Commissioner Chagai Fateh Khan Khajak on Monday met Iranian delegation led by Consul General Muhammad Rafiee to discuss the facilities and security arrangements for pilgrims. “District administration has established quality rest houses for pilgrims traveling to Iran and Iraq via Taftan Border while security personnel are also deployed to protect the pilgrims,” DC Chagai Khajak told the delegation. Lauding the arrangements, the Iranian diplomat said Tehran thanks the authorities in Balochistan and district administration for providing facilities. Meanwhile, the delegation also visited immigration counters at Pak-Iran border where they were informed that 22 new immigration counters were established to facilitate the pilgrims. Both sides have also nominated their focal persons to further communicate the issues related to pilgrims to immediately resolve them. It was also decided that the number and relevant details of the devotees would be communicated 24 hours in advance to both the sides to ensure effective regulation on the border.
