MULTAN: Nishtar Medical University (NMU) Vice Chancellor Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha has said that detecting dengue larvae is not the real issue. Adopting safety measures against dengue mosquitoes is the main hurdle, he said.

Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday, he said that NMU and the hospital’s administration were working day and night to tackle the dengue situation.

Dengue threat looms as 13 more found infected

He explained that no dengue case has been reported in Multan so far and the 28 patients that have tested positive for the virus, out of a total of 38 admitted to the isolation ward, belong to other cities such as Islamabad, Sheikhupura and Muzaffargarh. The VC added that Nishtar Hospital has a 50-bed isolation ward and an additional 30 beds at the disaster Management unit at the Accident and Emergency Ward.
