TV channels told to follow PEMRA code

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has warned news channels to follow the PEMRA Code of Conduct 2015. The Council of Complaints, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in its 76th meeting held on Thursday under the chair of Dr Yar Muhammad Maghmoom Khattak at PEMRA Regional office, Peshawar recommended issuing warning to various TV news channels for violating PEMRA Code of Conduct 2015 on the complaints received through Pakistan Citizen Portal. The council also recommended cancellation of three cable TV licences due to non-operational. Other council members including Hifzul Haq Kakakhel, Hashim Raza Advocate, Liaqat Ali Khan, Dr Salma Shaheen, Bushra Farrukh and Rahat Ali (Regional General Manager and Secretary to the Council) were also present in the meeting.
