After discovering the US and Canada-based event's poster featuring the singer, FWICE rigidly stated that they have already directed all Indian artists, singer, anchors, performers and specifically, promoters to refrain from working with Pakistani nationals given the current state of affairs between the two countries over Kashmir.
The notice further added a 'nationalistic' claim to provide the personalities with a background check. It stated, "It is therefore our humble request to both of you to immediately cancel the above shows to maintain the dignity and honour of your country. You are Indian, for which you should be proud."
It concluded with a stern warning claiming, "In case if you don't cancel the shows of Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and go against the sentiments of Indians, no Indian artist/singer/dancer/anchor/performer/promoter would ever work with you anywhere in the entire world."
However, the classical singer has not commented on the matter yet. Patiala Peg singer Diljit had also postponed his US tour on request of FWICE, after the association issued him a similar notice.
Following the promoters' notice, the federation also issued a notice to prevent singers Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, and Kumar Sanu from performing at an event organised by a Pakistani in USA.
The notice specified "Having learnt that you along with your contemporaries are scheduled to perform in USA on November 17, 2019 that is organised by a Pakistani national Moazzma Hunain, We at FWICE are requesting for your reversal step that would de-link your participation from the said event."'
Along with another faithful reminder that the addressees are acclaimed 'Indian' artists who have garnered a wide viewership from the country, so it is imperative for them to reciprocate similar sentiments towards their countrymen.
