ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Monday handed over a secretary of Union Council (UC) Rawat to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for a four-day physical remand to investigate charges of corruption and misuse of power. During the proceeding, NAB prosecutor told Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Basheer that the suspect inflicted damage to national treasury by doing corruption in a contract of the bus stand. He added that the secretary also did not deposit in designated bank accounts the fees collected for different forms and certificates. The prosecutor informed the court that they needed to conduct inquiry in another case against the suspect for which he pleaded extension in physical remand. The counsel for suspect argued that remand could not be extended for another inquiry which was obtained for the first one. However, the court accepted NAB’s plea and handed over the suspect to them on four days physical remand.
