Chehlum security
Rawalpindi City Police Officer DIG Faisal Rana has sought reports of heinous crimes from all the three division chiefs of the region as he directed to create a comprehensive plan for Chehlum and Eid Miladun Nabi. A statement issued by the Rawalpindi police on Sunday read that CPO Rana had also set targets for the arrest of proclaimed offenders for all the three divisions.
Rana had on Sunday summoned the Saddar SP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, Potohar SP Syed Ali and Rawal SP Asif Masood, to the camp office and sought follow-up reports on the heinous cases.
The CPO said added that owing to strict security arrangements during the recently concluded Ashura processions, the area witnessed an unprecedented period of peace.
He further said that the crime rate had dropped and recoveries had notably been increased in the cases, adding that their efforts had been appreciated by elected representatives, traders unions, and citizens.
Noting that these efforts need to be sustained, CPO Rana said that a deadline must be set to solve heinous crime cases. He proceeded to set targets for divisional SPs regarding the arrest of proclaimed offenders, noting that all targets must be achieved by next week.
The security plans for the city, he said, must be formulated in coordination with public representatives.
