LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar directed officials to carry out the anti-dengue campaign in a more effective manner. Health and administrative departments should ensure the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), he added.

Issuing orders for monitoring teams on Sunday, the CM stated that dengue can only be eliminated by taking practical measures and no leniency would be tolerated in this regard. Commissioners and deputy commissioners should personally lead the anti-dengue campaigns, he added.

The CM also directed to pay special attention to indoor and outdoor surveillance while providing the best treatment facilities to dengue patients.

Meanwhile, the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department has taken a decision to conduct a third-party evaluation to analyse arrangements for the eradication of dengue.
