The latest edition of the annual ranking released on Wednesday includes around 1,400 universities from 92 countries, and 14 of those institutions are from Pakistan.
The Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) was ranked at number 401-500 in the 2020 edition
The table is based on 13 calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

COMSATS University, Islamabad: 601-800
The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad: 801-1000
The International Islamic University, Islamabad: 801-1000
Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS): 801–1000
National University of Sciences and Technology: 801–1000
University of Punjab: 801–1000
Bahauddin Zakariya University: 1001+
University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore: 1001+
Government College University, Lahore: 1001+
University of Peshawar: 1001+
PMAS Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi: 1001+
University of Sargodha: 1001+
The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore (1001+)
Meanwhile, the University of Oxford retained the first position for the fourth consecutive year while the University of Cambridge came third.
“The California Institute of Technology rises three places to second while Stanford, Yale, Harvard and Imperial College London all appear in the top ten,” said the statement.
