ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army on Saturday rebuffed India’s claims of terrorist infiltration terming it one of New Delhi’s efforts to prepare grounds for a false flag operation.

A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Indian media had fabricated facts regarding two local farmers who unintentionally crossed the Line of Control (LOC) on August 21 and declared them as members of a proscribed organisation.

“On August 27 the incident was discussed by military authorities during weekly hotline contact,” the statement read adding that the Indian authorities acknowledged and informed that routine legal formalities are taking place and the farmers shall get back on that account.

India unnerved by effective IOK campaign of Pakistan military’s media wing

According to military’s media wing, the incident was again discussed on September 3 over the hotline regarding false media reporting and Indian authorities assured that ‘due legal process’ was in place and outcome will soon be shared with Pakistan.

However, despite repeated reminders of false and fabricated reporting by Indian media, the Indian Army portrayed the two individuals as terrorists in a press conference on September 4.

“The apprehended inadvertent crossers had also been forced to give confessional statement under duress of Indian Army that they were trained in Pakistan and belonged to Rawalpindi,” said the ISPR statement.

It further said that both the individuals were local farmers and resident of Village Terraban (Hillan) along LOC and not Rawalpindi.
