Veteran actor Abid Ali hospitalised, daughters request for prayers

Iman Ali and Rahma Ali took to Instagram to update fans on their father's condition

Veteran actor Abid Ali has been hospitalised, his daughters Rahma Ali and Iman Ali revealed in Instagram posts on Monday.

"Papa has been extremely unwell for the past two months," the Coke Studio singer shared on her social media handle.

"Got treatments done, tried almost e try available medication, tasbeehs and Surah e Rehman too but now all the doctors have given us their final verdict. Basically they’ve told us there is nothing they can do to save him," she added.

Requesting for prayers, Rahma continued, "Par Allah se barri koi taaqat nahi hai. (There’s not bigger power than the Almighty). Humare sath agar ap logon ki duaa bhi mil jaayen tou shayad Allah sun he lain kisi ki (If you pray with us for him then maybe Allah may listen to someone)."

"Please pray for him."

Iman posted a picture and captioned it, "Please pray for papa's health."

Many extended well wishes to the veteran actor.

"Our legend and most beloved Abid Ali sahab is not keeping well. Let us all please say a special prayer for him. May Allah heal him and bless him with complete health," Humayun Saeed tweeted.

"Iconic drama, theatre and film actor Mr Abid Ali is very unwell and has been hospitalised. Let’s pray for his speedy recovery and healthy life," Chairman CBFC Daniyal Gilani wrote.

Born in Quetta, the actor has also received the prestigious Presidential award, Pride of Performance. He has three daughters, including Rahma and model and actor Iman.

He was recently seen in the film Heer Maan Ja alongside Ali Rehman Khan and Hareem Farooq.

Abid has also worked in numerous dramas such as Mehendi, Diyar-e-Dil, Daldal, Moorat, Rukhsati, Baitiyaan, Bad Gumaan, Gushtakh Ishq, Naagin and others.
