Rawalpindi’s Daultana made tehsil 

The administrative decision was taken in view of rapid increase in population over the past few years

RAWALPINDI: Daultana, a densely populated area of Rawalpindi, has been declared a tehsil. It will be the eighth tehsil or sub-division of Rawalpindi district.

The administrative decision was taken in view of rapid increase in population over the past few years. While confirming the news, Punjab Law Minister Raja Bashrat told The Express Tribune that decision was taken due to increasing population of Daultana. He added that the process would complete before end of current year. He said people of Daultana will now have their own a Tehsil Katcheri or lower courts and Tehsil Bar. Besides, an assistant commissioner, additional sessions judge, two civil judges and a tehsildar would be deployed in Daultana after it attains the status of the eighth tehsil of Rawalpindi district.
