Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has given approval for the recruitment of 4,500 college teacher interns (CTIs) in public sector colleges across the province.

The recruitment for 400 vacant posts will be made against the quota reserved for minorities and differently-abled persons. A summary of the higher education department has been approved by the chief minister. CTIs having satisfactory performance, during the current educational year, will be given the opportunity again.

However, this will not mean an extension in the period of their employment. The CM has directed the administrative department to devise a mechanism for monitoring the performance of CTIs and has also sought recommendations regarding the formulation of a comprehensive policy for recruitment for 2020-2021.
