Meanwhile, Atif Zaman, the prime suspect who is currently in police custody and was produced for Monday's hearing, was handed over documents including the witnesses' statements and copies of the case. The court directed the investigation officer, Atiqur Rehman to arrest and produce the suspect at large, Adil Zaman, in the next hearing on September 2.
According to police, Adil Zaman was with his brother, Atif Zaman, when the victims were shot dead.
In an informal conversation with the media after the hearing, IO Rehman maintained that the police were trying their best to arrest Adil Zaman.
"We had written a letter to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding the investigations," said the officer. "We will extend full support to NAB in the case as there are chances that more financial crimes may surface during the course of investigations," he added.
