LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday sought a response from the federal government to a petition seeking directions to the Punjab government to provide 50 per cent adhoc relief to LHC employees.     The court directed Deputy Attorney General Aazar Latif to reply by September. The petition was filed by LHC Additional Registrar Riaz Ali Zaidi, who said that the basic salaries of government employees were increased by 50 per cent in the federal budget 2010-2011. He said that except in the Punjab, the pays of all high court employees, including the Islamabad High Court, were increased. He said that the Punjab government had not given the raise despite repeated reminders. Earlier, Additional Advocate General Hanif Khatana said that the instruction was not applicable to Punjab.
