LAC restores nine paintings 

The restored paintings are around 60-years-old

The Lahore Arts Council (LAC) organised the launching ceremony of nine restored paintings at Alhamra Cultural Complex, Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday. The launching ceremony was inaugurated by Mian Ijazul Hassan along with LAC Board of Governor Chairperson Moneeza Hashmi and LAC Executive Director Ather Ali Khan. The artists whose paintings were restored included Anna Molka Ahmed, Colin David, Moin Najmi, Ghulam Rasool, Mehmood Butt, Ahmed Shahbaz, Salima Hashmi and Mian Ijazul Hassan. The restored paintings were around 60-years-old and were restored by LAC Arts and Culture Director Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, Alhamra Arts Museum Curator Hajra Mehmood and Alhamra Arts Museum Exhibition Officer Babar Mustafa. Speaking on the occasion, LAC Board of Governor Chairperson Moneeza Hashmi said that promoting the arts and appreciating the craft is our prime responsibility. “Alhamra Arts Museum is a place for art lovers, students and visitors alike,” she said. LAC Executive Director Ather Ali Khan said that the artists have been working hard to restore the nine paintings to their original form.
