Federal doctors to get salaries equal to Punjab doctors

The Health Ministry had sent a summary to the prime minister suggesting an increase in healthcare allowance

ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister has approved a summary to bring allowances of federal doctors on a par with Punjab.

According to documents, the Health Ministry had sent a summary to the prime minister suggesting an increase in healthcare allowance, health professional allowance, teaching allowance and non-practicing allowance for doctors serving in federal hospitals equivalent to doctors serving in Punjab. The ministry proposed a measure for doctors, similar to nurses in federal hospitals, who received an increment in allowances recently.

The summary proposed to give 75 percent special healthcare allowance, 75 percent health professional allowance, 75 percent non- practicing allowance and 75 percent teaching allowance to basic pay scale (BPS)  17 and 18 doctors according to initial basic salary in 2018.
