Rape-video accused sent on judicial remand

The suspect accused of recording objectionable videos of girls has been sent to Adyala jail on a 14 day judicial remand.

Duty Judge Imran Hameed ordered City police station SHO to present charge against the suspect, Qasim Jehangir, in next hearing on September 2. Police had given a written application to court to send suspect to jail which was approved.

Jahangir and his wife were accused of kidnapping and assaulting girls, making their videos to blackmail the families. Recently, the kidnapped a young woman, held her hostage with a dagger on her neck to rape and make her video. This time, however, the victim instead of getting blackmailed went to the police.

Subsequently, the couple was arrested. Police recovered objectionable pictures and videos of 45 girls from their cell phone.

However, the high profile police team probing the matter failed to obtain confessional statement from Jahangir, while none of the other victim out of 45 was presented before the court too.

The plaintiff in the case has also vanished from the scene and did not appear in the court yesterday.

She had already filed an application with the CPO declaring her mistrust over the investigation process. According to her when she went to the City police station, the suspect was enjoying chicken karahi and chatting with cops in a room instead of being in a lock up.
