KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday suspended the notices issued by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Faryal Talpur and Zardari Group.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Aqeel Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan was hearing the plea filed against FBR for issuing notices to Talpur and Zardari Group. The court while temporarily suspending the notices, restricted the FBR from collecting tax from Talpur and Zardari group and sought a reply from FBR officials and other parties. According to FBR, the land assets of Talpur and Zardari Group don't match with tax returns they had filed. Several acres of land are in Faryal Talur and Zardari Group's name. FBR sent the notice to Talpur and Zardari group demanding tax and also sought the record and details of both the land.

The plea filed against FBR notice maintained that the issue of land is under trial in the court, therefore, the notice sent by FBR should be suspended.
