Three killed in Sukkur prison riots

Prisoners riot against administration at Sukkur central jail. Six FC personnel, four prisoners injured.

SUKKUR: Three prisoners were killed as riots erupted at central jail in Sukkur, Express 24/7 reported on Tuesday.

Jail superintendent, Qazi Nazeer said prisoners began rioting against the administration earlier today. Six FC personnel and four prisoners have also been reported to be injured.

Police opened fire and shelled prisoners to control the situation. The prisoners also took four FC personnel hostage.

An operation is currently underway at the jail.
