Flood plans reviewed

All departments issues warnings to people living near or next to the riverbank

BHAKKAR: In anticipation of the flood season, the district administration has completed all the necessary arrangements. The irrigation department has deployed heavy machinery to prevent flooding.

This was revealed by Bhakkar Deputy Commissioner Asif Ali Farrukh during a meeting reviewing flood arrangements and the safety relief plan on Monday.

He stated that development work on the super dam on River Indus has also been accelerated. Further, all departments concerned have issued warnings to people living near or next to the river bank. All the necessary arrangements have been finalised in three tehsils of the district including Bhakkar, Kallar Kot and Darya Khan.

The deputy commissioner said that the heads of all departments concerned have been directed to oversee arrangements and the relief plan so that people’s lives and property can be kept safe.
