FAISALABAD: Several breaches appeared in Canal Road as a result of the recent downpour in the city. Several routes along the main road remained blocked for over five hours on Monday, as tehsil municipal authorities (TMA) worked on repairing the breaches. Meanwhile, a large pool of water gathered near the steam power main wall and locals have warned that the water has damaged electrical wiring in the area. “This poses a huge threat as there is current in the water and it is a very large pool. We have to walk around the entire street,” said TMA official Raza Haq. Haq said that people feared being electrocuted and the water needed to be pumped out within the two days. “This could get very bad because the entire street across from the pond has been blocked. People cant move out of their homes,” he said.
