Accused to be indicted on next hearing

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) provided copies of the case on Friday to the accused nominated in more than 10 cases pertaining to the May 12, 2007 incident. The accused, Ahad and Haq Nawaz, appeared before the court. The ATC provided them copies of the case and adjourned the hearing till August 2. The amended indictment will be issued on the next hearing. Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhter has acquired exemption from court. Akhtar and others are indicted in four cases pertaining to the May 12 incident. The mayor and 20 other accused are out on bail while 18 accused in the cases have been declared absconders by the court. The cases against the accused are registered at Airport and other police stations.
