Police claim to arrest two accused in raids

FAISALABAD: Police have arrested two accused who allegedly kidnapped and raped a visually impaired woman in Faisalabad’s Millat Town area on Thursday.

Reportedly, the victim, a resident of Shadman Town, was alone at home when the main accused Asad came to the house with an accomplice named Yasin. They convinced the woman to go with them to attend a function arranged for blind people. The acceded kidnapped the woman and brought her to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her.

The Millat Town police registered a case against three accused on the complaint of the victim’s husband.

Police claimed to have arrested two accused while raids were being conducted for the arrest of the third accused.

Police said the accused have been presented before the court and their three-day physical remand has been granted.
