Locust attacks in Sindh and Balochistan had damaged crops

MULTAN: Crops in Multan division were declared safe from a locust attack. This was stated during a meeting with Senior Punjab Board of Revenue Member Shoukat Ali on Tuesday. Multan Additional Commissioner Sarfraz said that surveys were conducted in 328 union councils across the division.

He maintained that feedback was taken from 2,136 farmers about locust attacks and crops in Vehari, Khanewal, Lodhran, and Multan were declared safe and in good condition.

He stated that a detailed report about locusts had been submitted to the Punjab government. Multan Deputy Commissioner Aamir Khatak said that they have an ample stock of medicines to counter a possible attack of locusts. Senior Board of Revenue Member Shoukat Ali lauded the efforts of the officials and said that locust attacks in Sindh and Balochistan had damaged crops.
