10-year-old boy raped, killed in Lahore

Police say investigation is ongoing and suspects will be arrested soon

LAHORE: A 10-year old boy was allegedly raped and murdered in Batapur late Sunday night.

Police said that Subhan had gone to graze his goats in the field but did not return. When his father Amjad went to look for him he saw his son was brutally killed and abandoned in the field.

On receiving information, police and forensic personnel reached the spot, collected evidence and shifted the body to a morgue. Police recovered the body and found torture marks on his body. Subhan was a student of grade 3. “He was my only son and my world has ruined. I do not know why these men killed my son. I feel I have nothing left in this world for me.”

Police said that the investigation is ongoing and suspects will be arrested soon. A case has been registered in the Batapur police station against the unidentified culprit on the complaint of the victim’s father, Amjad.

The police spokesperson said that police teams under the supervision of DSP Manawan are making full efforts to arrest the suspects. Subhan was the only son of his parents and had a younger sister. Police and forensic personnel collected evidence after reaching the crime scene.

Subhan’s body was handed over to his family after the autopsy. The family has left for Farooqabad to bury their child.

DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan directed SSP Operations Lahore Ismail Kharak to take effective measures to arrest the suspects. He also directed SP Cant Safdar Raza Kazmi to visit the crime scene and meet the deceased’s family. SSP Operations and SP Cantt will provide full support to Investigation Wing to arrest the culprits. Forensic teams will submit the report after collecting evidence.
