RAWALPINDI: Books are a human being’s best friend and promoting literature can help create a more peaceful society.

This was stated by Punjab Minister for Colonies Fayyazul Hassan Chohan while addressing the book launching ceremony of the book “Tum Bhol Gae ho” by Kiran Rubab Naqvi at the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Sunday.

The ceremony was presided over by prominent poet and intellectual Professor Dr Munwar Hashmi while it was anchored by Rukhsana Saher. Chohan said that the moral of any book should be socially proactive regardless of what genre it belongs to.

He further added that Naqvi’s book would be a good addition to the genre of Urdu poetry. Prof Dr Hashmi was of the view that Naqvi’s poetry has a distinct position amongst the works of other contemporary poets due to certain uniqueness of her prose.
