SWAT: Six members of a family, two women and four children, died in a landslide in Khyber-Pakhtunwa’s remote area Batan near Kalam Valley on Thursday.

According to the emergency service, Rescue 1122, seven people were buried under the debris after a boulder hit their house.

The rescue team managed to pull out all of them from the house, but two women and four children lost their lives due to injuries and suffocation.

The injured has been shifted to a nearby hospital.

Officials said that the landslide was likely to be triggered by the recent rains in the area.

In January, eight labourers were killed and several others went missing after a passenger van got buried by a landslide at Karakoram Highway in Kohistan district.
