The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on July 1 had taken Sanaullah into custody from the Islamabad-Lahore motorway near Sukheki for allegedly possessing a huge quantity of drugs in his vehicle. He was travelling from Faisalabad to Lahore at the time of his arrest.
Reiterating that Sanaullah’s arrest was political victimization, Nabeela Sanaullah claimed, “My husband’s case is the worst example of lawlessness. His arrest has exposed the personal vendetta of Prime Minister Imran Khan.”
ANF arrests Rana Sanaullah for carrying drugs
She continued in her latter that with her husband’s arrest, the premier set an example of using the national institutions against his political opponents.
“The content of the FIR report totally denies the real facts. My husband is the most vocal critic of the incumbent government and his arrest has exposed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government’s desperation to take down its opponents on flimsy grounds,” said Nabeela.
“Before his arrest, Sanaullah had hinted that he might get assassinated or arrested. The state has used the most credible department [ANF] to justify its reasons for putting an opponent behind the bars.”

Nabeela stressed, “Heroine was initially not found from Sanaullah’s possession while his car was searched on the motorway. It was planted on him later at the anti-narcotics police station to frame my husband in this case.”
“In violation of the legal provisions of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), neither any photograph nor any video was presented by the authorities supporting that heroin was recovered from Sanaullah’s vehicle,” Sanaullah’s wife added.
She said, “Sanaullah’s personal belongings, which include his mobiles, Rs600,000 cash, his electronic cards and other items, have not been returned by the ANF, which is also a violation of the procedures.”
