NHA removes 50 encroachments

ISLAMABAD: National Highway Authority has removed encroachments from 50 locations falling in the Right of Way (ROW) retrieving seven kanals of land worth Rs70 million from Peshawar Road (N-5).

The encroachment drive was undertaken on directives of Communications Minister Murad Saeed. It is pertinent to mention that NHA has launched this drive in collaboration with Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and that officials of these departments are jointly participating in this drive. The objective of this anti encroachment drive is to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

There were 50 encroachment from Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) College to Tarnol along Peshawar Road (N-5). These encroachment included 10 kiosks, 15 Shops, four verandas, three stairs and 18 sheds.
