“It was an amazing experience and I regret not coming here earlier. There are so many things that the Sindh government and the IT department should be doing with The Nest I/O which is doing a wonderful job. All the startups that I had a briefing with, whether they are working on gaming or healthcare or education, they don’t just have ideas, but also have results to support their ideas,” according to the minister.
How Nest i/o is helping budding entrepreneurs launch startups
The Nest I/O is a technology incubator set up four and a half years ago to support entrepreneurship and innovation in the Pakistani ecosystem. Its primary support comes from Google for Startups.
The Minister spoke with President P@SHA and Founder of The Nest I/O Jehan Ara as well as the upcoming startups to find out more about the problems they were tackling, the solutions they offered, and the help they could receive from the government.

“I’m so glad that the IT Minister took the time to visit The Nest I/O and meet these talented startups. These conversations are just the beginning of something much bigger. Some of the startups have created solutions to problems surrounding education, healthcare, affordable housing, mental health and maternal and infant care. Very often in order to scale they need access to government institutions to implement their solutions. This is where the Minister and his team can assist.” commented Jehan Ara.
The Nest I/O organized a Demo Day on July 2 to celebrate the graduation of 13 successful startups including Nativ Learning, ABC for Moms, Namkeen Sach, ParentsPlus and iWant. Entrepreneurs were able to pitch their ideas and display their products in front of high profile individuals, such as Farhan Qureshi from Google and Kashif Merchant from EO.
