The petitioner did not receive the result and a competent authority should have issued its schedule to the applicants

LAHORE:

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Friday adjourned till July 13 the hearing of the writ petition that has questioned the Punjab Government’s Ashiana Housing Scheme. The Scheme aims to provide inexpensive and adequate residential housing to low income people in the province.

On Friday, an additional advocate general (AAG) informed the court that the draw for the allotment of plots was held in a transparent manner and result had been sent to the applicants.

The petitioner said he had not received the result and added that before holding the draw a competent authority should have issued its schedule to the applicants.

The CJ directed the AAG to hand over copy of draw results to the petitioner and deferred hearing till July 13 for arguments.

Petitioner Barrister Javed Iqbal Jafree had alleged that allotment process was not transparent.
