Sensitive Price Indicator rises 0.03%

The SPI for the lowest income group increased 0.11% compared to the previous week

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended June 27, 2019 registered an increase of 0.03% for the combined income group, going up from 257.41 points during the week ended June 13, 2019, to 257.5 in the week under review.

However, the SPI for the combined income group surged 11.83% compared to the corresponding week of the previous year.

SPI declines 0.09%

The SPI for the lowest income group increased 0.11% compared to the previous week. The index for the group stood at 236.95 points against 236.68 points in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

During the week, average prices of 19 items rose in a selected basket of goods, prices of seven items fell and rates of remaining 27 goods recorded no change.
