Malaika Arora reveals her feelings about age gap with Arjun Kapoor

"Unfortunately, we live in a society that refuses to progress with time," the Bollywood actor said

Bollywood star Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor took social media by storm when they made their relationship 'Instagram official' while vacationing in New York for the latter's 34th birthday.

In a recent interview, Malaika revealed her feelings about something everyone has been curious to find out - the age-gap between the pair, reported Pinkvilla.

Prior to Arjun, the Chaiyya Chaiyya actor was married to Arbaaz Khan. When she ended her relationship with the Bollywood actor and director, she found love in Arjun who also happens to be 11-years younger to her.

When Malaika was asked about finding love again after getting divorced, she said, “It feels amazing! When my marriage ended, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be in another relationship and was scared of being heartbroken. But I also wanted to be in love, nurture a relationship, and this new me gave me the confidence to put myself out there and take a chance. I am so glad I did!”

Often, on social media, Malaika is trolled for dating a younger man with more than a decade age gap.  But the star has something to say about that to everyone who is curious to know about her feelings towards the age difference with Arjun.

“The age difference doesn’t really pop up when you are in a relationship. It is about two minds and hearts connecting. Unfortunately, we live in a society that refuses to progress with time," she said during the interview.

Malaika continued speaking on her feelings towards some societal views towards the pair. "An older man romancing a younger girl is hailed everywhere, but when the woman is older, she’s called ‘desperate’ and a buddhi (old). For people who think like this, I have just one line: Take a flying f***.”

After Malaika posted a picture with Arjun on her Instagram, the India's Most Wanted star too revealed a click of his partner hiding her face with a heart shaped YSL bag. His caption read, "She has my heart".
