Training of teachers to be completed before start of new academic year

ISLAMABAD: Training relating to modern education, class management and teaching skills of 3,000 teachers in federal educational institutions will be completed before summer vacations ends, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) director training Saadia Adnan, told The Express Tribune.

She added that the teachers were given no allowance during the course of training however they were provided refreshments and necessary stationery. She said the training centres were established in all seven FDE sectors while there was a single centre for teachers and heads of model colleges.

She said the training was being given with help of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) while 15 master trainers of FDE were deployed in seven centre.

FDE plans teachers training programme in summer

Adnan said that classrooms of 80% model colleges were equipped with necessary facilities while almost all, except for some, had ideal teacher-to-student ratio.

To a question, she said that the training schedule was provided to schools according to which the training period was scheduled to start by end of June. She added that around 1,800 teachers were being trained during June while more than 1,000 teachers have benefitted from project based learning training programme.

She said that the teachers would be given effective communication skill training and added that 90 female teachers would be trained regarding issues faced by young girls.

Adnan said that all trainees and resource persons were provided modules relating modern teaching.
