Malaysia for boosting trade ties

ISLAMABAD: Malaysia is keen to deepen bilateral trade and investment relations with Pakistan as both countries have great potential to cooperate with each other in many fields, said Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. Speaking at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) award ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, she urged Pakistan to use cricket diplomacy for promoting bilateral relations and consider Malaysia as a second destination for organising cricket matches. She expressed hope that events such as this would create new opportunities for promoting business linkages between private sectors of both the countries. Speaking on the occasion, ICCI President Ahmed Hassan Moughal said the chamber organised the event to promote business linkages between private sectors of the two countries and recognise the contribution of top-performing businesses of Islamabad at the international level. He was of the view that the initiative would motivate other businesses to excel in their fields and receive international recognition.
