Strengthening bonds: ‘Year of China-Pakistan friendship’

President says Pakistan will continue to encourage exchanges between its political parties and the CPC.

BEIJING: President Asif Ali Zardari on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said Pakistan will continue to encourage exchanges between its political parties and the CPC to further enhance and strengthen the friendly ties. Zardari in an interview with Xinhua said this year has been designated as the “year of China-Pakistan friendship.” A series of activities are being held in the political, economic, trade, military, cultural, sporting and education fields to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations. Zardari said the close ties between the CPC and PPP played an important role in cementing ties between the two countries. He described Pak-China friendship as model relationship, “no other relationship can match this time-tested partnership.”
